Hello Nigel!

Thank you for sharing your work on this Mod.  :guitar:

Although your schematic is revision "6847" does it correspond to the "AFD tone 26 new" -clip you posted in the other thread?
I hope so, because it sounds quite nice and much better than the gainstructure in "AFD tone 68No3" clip...

Greetings,

snyder80

Hi snyder80, if you want the 26 new tone, just put 820r.47 on the third stage, & a 220p over the first plate resistor, but you might like it without the 220p, but i think 2k7.47 is more raw sounding, i havent done a clip yet, because they all sound something the same, also put the 150k on a switch, so you can turn it off for more gain :)

cheers

Nigel

Thank you for the specs!

One more thing about the 68 No3 clip: I think there was at leat one stage overdriven too much. It sounds like there could be some blocking distortion from the preamp (i.e. 820E II with too big CK?).
So does your "clip numerlogy" belong to different settings in the same circuit or does it mean different revisions of the mod itself (change in bypass caps/gridstoppers/voltage dividers between stages...)

snyder80

i cant remember for sure what 68 no3 was, but it was probably without the 150k,

listening to the clip again,i remember again, i was testing what the amp sounded like with a smaller bypass cap on the first stage, so on that clip i done something crazy & put a 2k7.1 stage as the first stage, & thats how it sounds, not very nice :(

Hey Duke!

lets call No68 squishy and thin...

So obvious your clip numbering belongs to different revisions of mods. Nr.28 was also nice sounding. A little more open/airy in the Mids but maybe not that punchy or raw.

And at last one question: What are your settings for GVTMBP? Did you dial the Tonestack @noon (or same setting) for all the clips -or the way you suggested/posted in the 50w mod thread?

Greetings, snyder80

setting for all the clips, were g1 7, g2 6, mv4, t6, m5, p6, if you use the 150k you will maybe have to turn g1 up a bit,

28 was just 820r.68 on the third stage :)

Hi Nigel,

in my opinion the amp sounds awesome.
Do you have a voltage chart for it?

Cheers

Hi,

what is the "hot shield" good for ? Is this supposed to be some kind of capacity coupled feedback ?  ;)
Or is just for bringing fun to the input jack modifier ?
