*LOL*
Nah..your english is as good as they come. Take my word for it!
Agreed though that it might be an idea that we all stick to what we know best...
My biggest concern,to be honest,is that to this day not all understand/appreciate english. Well..can´t win ´em all i guess.
TBH my english limps a bit too these days having lived in Sweden for the better part of 30yrs..
Anyways.
Yeah.
I kept my solution real simple. About as simple as it gets and it indeed makes a Twen open up. That said, please please please those of you doing so stop selling the old Dynacords and what not cheap...read on...
Speaking of which. I to this day don´t get why you guys don´t dwell on your domestic production of tube amps more then you do. From a pure tech point of view the German made tube amps outshine most of what was ever produced in Britain and the US.
What the German made amps of the time lacked was...modern day n era sound, but see sound can always be altered by us simply resetting topology for the tubes present.
Having to reengineer e pisspoor design on the other hand though,as for the amp as a whole,is another matter. Just take a look at most generic made British amps of the time, they´re a damn joke TBH..built with whatever happend to be present in the part bin.
My personal preference with German made amps is indeed Klemt and in turn actually Austrovox (Austrian,i know..but they´re friggin deadringers designwise for the Klemts).
The boys of Klemt,to this day as far as i´m concerned, produced some of the finest guitar and bass tube amps ever conceived. As one takes a step back and REALLY ponder and regard what´s on the bench, why parts have ended up where they have and why the chassis is put together as it is and so forth...them boys knew what the F they were doing.
All said and done if you hand an old BS-40 what it can handle they surpass 50 watts with ease. Remember..distorted signal
They do so at the weight of approx 10kg. Compare that to a 50w JMP....cheers!
So yeah. I own a bunch of BS-40´s as well as Showstars,Mustangs..down to the Winston GA-200 (a couple) and the PA-200. All great amps. All amps that were truly DESIGNED.
Just take a look at the presence control of a Showstar...genius. Just plain friggin genius.
Of course there´s a couple of ET-100´s around. The early ones, with the gold baffle fabric,is the ones to get IMO as their frame is out of solid pine which makes them light. Put on a scale they tend to tip in at around 11kg-12kg.
What i do is that i remove one of the stock P30/37´s and replace that with an Eminence Cannabis Rex. The CR then provides the volume and the P30/37 the grit. A REAL good match if you ask me.
Then...check what the CR´s run..they´re friggin cheap.
