Preamp: 5x 12AX7
amp : 4x 6L6 and 4xEL34 (with commutation select)
output transformer: Hammond 1650W
power transformer: Hand made for really have 150W
Progressive start, µprocessor and reed relays for commutation, and protection, mesa footswitch compatible, midi commutation ...
I'll made a website for the a to z realisation
(Nota: pictures was made with mechanical desktop 2005)
Thanks for your interrest...
Hey efirre,
Your project sounds interesting, a little similar to mine
* uProcessor + relay controlled
* Progressive startup
* Tube failsafe monitoring
* Speaker jack failsafe (poweramp remains on standby until speaker jack is connected)
* uProcessor controlled bias measuring & adjustment
* Midi
* 2x Cooling fans inside
* 3 Assignable channels
* 8 Assignable preamps:
- Lonestar Cleans
- Mark IV Lead
- Mark IV R1
- Recto Ch2 Vintage
- Recto Ch2 Modern
- Recto Ch3 Vintage
- Recto Ch3 Modern
- ENGL
* Full channel cloning - so ANY combination of preamps is possible
* 7 Button footswitch: Ch1 - Ch2 - Ch3 - Boost - LOOP - EQ - Reverb
* Knob "pulls" on all 3 channels (similair to markIV pulls)
- Gain: bright | Volume: bright | Bass: fat | Master: silent recording
* 5 band eq
* Channel selection button on front panel
* Rear: Each channel has it's own controls:
- Loop select: Serial / Parallel
- Loop on / off / auto
- Loop: send level
- Loop: return level
- Simulclass / Class A
- Pentode / Triode switch
- Reverb: level
- Reverb: on / off / auto
- EQ: on / off / auto
- Boost: level
- Boost: on / off / auto
It's going to be crazy having a Recto preamp mated to a Simulclass poweramp, with Mark-style pulls!!! Or ENGL with Simul power!
The major problem for me right now is switching between the preamps without noise - switching components in the preamp cathode is o.k., but switching anode resistors
I can't wait for this baby
it'll be a few hard months of work!
Take it easy,
Jonny
