Titel: Tube-town surfmate build - question re mixer
Beitrag von: Luxpaul am 15.02.2025 20:33
Hello.
Hope it’s ok to write in English !!
If not please let me know and I will use a translate app next time.

I have just built a Surfmate reverb and it sounds fantastic.
Just one thing i wanted to check to see if it was normal behaviour.
When I have the footswitch connected and the reverb in the off position, I notice that the mixer is still affecting the signal.
If the mixer is at minimum I.e. completely dry, the sound is normal (same as direct into amp) However if the mixer is on maximum, the signal is a bit lower and with more bass.
Is this expected behaviour or is it possible I have an error in my circuit ?
Voltages are all normal looking and  tested within a very small percentage of those in the schematic.

Many thanks
Paul

Hello Paul!

I just had a look into those schematics and according to them this seems to be intended. I wouldn't have done a switching like this, but that's how it's done in the original Reverb Unit, so I fear you'll have to deal with it.

Cheers

Many thanks for the reply John.
Yes , I suspected the same.
Not to worry, I’m still very happy with it as the reverb sounds fabulous.

Best regards
Paul
